6/9/2014 - Panguitch, UT to Escalante, UT

66 miles

Two climbs and Red Canyon, Dixie National Forest, Bryce National Park & Escalante National Monument. Gorgeous day...but a very busy one.

I left Panguitch, UT with Miriam and we headed back to Cedar City, UT to the bike shop so she could get a replacement bike for her Bike Friday which suffered a broken fork yesterday. We were at the bike shop when the doors opened and Miriam after trying two bikes decided on a Jamis Aurora Elite Touring Bike. She had a big cassette (36) put on, her pedals, and her saddle as well, and it looks like she is all set.

We headed back to Panguitch to pick up the trailer and then we took off after the riders. We ran into Ian and Cath, and Richard. All were doing well. Further down the road in Tropic, UT we picked up Hughes who wasn't feeling very well and headed for Escalante, UT. Along the way we caught up with Jim and Bill. Bill had had enough so he hoped into the truck for a lift for the last 20 miles.

We arrived at the Prospector Inn, Escalante, UT where all the passengers alighted and then I dropped the trailer and went back out to pick up Richard who was having some altitude issues.

I didn't take too many photos today, but I did get a chance to stop at Red Canyon. It was beautiful.
Hopefully tomorrow I will get a chance to stop in Grand Staircase-Escalante. Only time will tell.

Here are the photos from today:
