6/23/2014 - Pueblo, CO - REST DAY

Congressional Medal of Honor Memorial

Pueblo, CO has been designated the "Home of Heroes" by the Congress of the United States. This honor was bestowed on the city because it is the only city that has four recipients of the Medal of Honor:

William J. 'Bill' Crawford - WWII - 1943
Carl L. Sitter - Korea - 1950
Raymond G. 'Jerry' Murphy - Korea - 1953
Drew D. Dix - Vietnam - 1968

In addition to the statues of Pueblo's four heroes, the names of over 3,400 recipients are incorporated on granite slabs mounted on the walls of the Convention Center just behind the sculptures. Listed by war, the names are in alphabetical order.

After that I took a bike ride with Marnie and we went to the bike store and then found some really nice trails ans toodled about the city of Pueblo, CO.

The rest of the afternoon I spent updating my laptop and watching movies.

Tomorrow we are off to Rocky Ford, CO.
