2016 Epic Road Trip - Day 22

June 4, 2016

Day 22 - Deer Lodge, MT to Hungry Horse, MT - 250 Miles

Started the day in Deer Lodge, MT. It is a really neat small town.

Cool Mural in Deer Lodge, MT
Grant-Kobhrs Ranch National Historic Site celebrates the frontier cattle era of US History

The Grant-Kohrs Ranch was/is huge.
After the ranch I stopped in my favorite little town, Ovando, MT for lunch at the Stray Bullet Cafe. Got a chance to talk to the original owner of the cafe who was running it when I first came through in 2008. The townspeople have really embraced the cycling tourists. In addition to the rooms over the General Store, for $5 a night you can stay in the Hoosecow, or the range wagon or a teepee. Really cool.

Only $5 a night...it sleeps 2!
The food is just as great as I remember it. Had a wonderful breakfast burrito for lunch. The ladies running the cafe were really nice and we had a very nice chat.
Anyone want to sleep in the jail? Only $5 a night.
A really neat street sign
Beautiful scenery
In the charming town of Arlee, MT I made a stop at the Garden of 1,000 Buddhas. Very Tranquil.

The Garden's flowers were beautiful
More beautiful scenery
Flathead Lake scenery
Gateway to Glacier! Almost there!
Stopped for the next couple of days at the Mountain Meadow RV Park Resort - Hungry Horse, MT. It is really pretty.
