2016 Epic Road Trip - Days 83 and 84

Days 83 and 84
August 4 - 5, 2016

Smithers to Prince George, BC

Thursday was a day of travel, pretty much due east for 250 miles, passing through the mountains,  a few glaciers, old mining towns and First Nations villages along the way.  The town of Burns Lake was interesting – it boasts of having the largest fly fishing rod in the world -- 60 feet tall and weighs hundreds of pounds.

Funnier, though, was the name of the fast food restaurant across the street.

Also went past Stoner, BC but I was going too fast to get a picture of the sign.

Spent the night at Glacier View RV park, where there actually was a view of the glacier.  Friday was a day of reorganization of the RV, cleaning from top to bottom, laundry, making more dog food for the princess, and binge-watching “Better call Saul”, a prequel to the character of Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad.

After finishing the first season of that show, it was on to 'Jade Fever'.  The sales clerk who helped me when I was buying souvenirs at the Jade City gift shop was on the screen.  Interesting information in the show, and they are currently filming the 3rdseason, but if it doesn’t get more exciting, I doubt there will be a 4th.  The story is about whether or not they will find jade in Wolverine mining site, but you also know that the main character’s father had successfully mined Wolverine during the 40 years he was actively mining.  I am guessing they will find more jade.  That will be in Season 2.

Self explanatory sign seen during my travels
Ryder being her cute self. She definitely needs a haircut!
