2016 Epic Road Trip - Day 59

Denali National Park and Preserve
Day 59

Today we got up at the crack of dawn and caught a tour bus which took us as far as humanly possible into Denali National Park. It was 92 miles of dirt road which was a very long ride on a pretty uncomfortable bus. We did see 4 big bull moose all just hanging out in a clearing, caribou, a fleeting bear sighting, a huge porcupine, birds of prey, hawks and some other stuff to include some rocks pretending to be animals.

The weather did not cooperate so I did not see Mt. Denali. She was hiding in the clouds.

At lunch at the Backcountry Lodge, there were 2 empty seats on a Cessna 6 seater heading back to the park entrance, so we took it to save ourselves another long bus trip back. It was beautiful. Denali Park is hugh, beautiful and wondrous.

After returning back to the RV it was a quite night of just chilling.

So here are all the pictures....

The Pilot - Shaun

Notice the fuel gage...the pilot lets his gas tank go just like Marnie and Jan!

This sign is not lying!

There is a porcupine in there somewhere!
