May 31, 2014 - Fallon, NV to Middlegate Station, NV

48 miles


It is a short day as a result of having to set up tomorrow's ride. The map looks blank because we are riding through the Great Basin...another name for desert...and we are also riding along the loneliest road in America...it is definitely living up to its name.


The Road goes on and on....


And on and on...

Middlegate Station


Look what we found out back of our lodging for the evening


Middlegate Station is a historic Pony Express Overland Stage Station that was used in the 1800s. It is Also on the first paved highway coast to coast...the Lincoln Highway.


Lincoln Highway marker - a 3,143 mile 'rock highway'


Rustic is a good description of our accommodations...people are very nice.

Tomorrow we are off to Austin, NV.
